For the first time, Instituto Nueva Escuela will hold an educational convention
For the first time, INE’s Academic Program will hold an educational gathering in Puerto Rico in order to continue strengthening Montessori education on the island.
The Montessori Encounter: Forming Citizens of Peace will take place on the 7th and 8th of November, 2025 at the Puerto Rico Convention Center. Over 800 people are expected to participate, including Montessori guides from other countries seeking continuing education in Spanish, as well as the Montessori public school communities, families, educators, and people interested in the Montessori model.
As a non-profit organization, we are committed to providing Montessori training to teachers, principals and assistants in Puerto Rico, so that children and youth have a quality education.
“This will be an important moment for the Montessori public school project. This academic space will be for connecting and learning from each other. It will also be a place to witness the wonders that are taking place in each environment and school community,” shared Annabel Martínez Rivera, director of our Academic Program.
The educational meeting will feature a wide range of topics that seek to nurture the knowledge of Montessori pedagogy for each person who attends. Some of the topics that will be presented are the integration of the family in Montessori education, Montessori at home, foundations of education for peace in the Montessori method, inclusive education and cultural diversity, among others. Through conferences, workshops and educational talks, participants will have the opportunity to:
Professional development for educators
Understanding and support for families
Promoting peace education in communities and the education system
Access to data and academic research
Those interested in being part of the event's speakers may submit their academic proposals on or before March 7. Proposals must be sent to the email address encuentromontessori@inepr.com and will be evaluated by the Academic Committee, made up of Montessori guides and experts in this pedagogy.
Continuing education courses are required for AMS Montessori certification.
For INE, this educational gathering is another opportunity to share our expert knowledge in the Montessori methodology, strengthen the Public Montessori project, expand the Montessori model, and add the support of new allies and collaborators to this educational project whose reach is positively reflected in the people and communities in Puerto Rico.
“We are excited about this meeting. We are looking forward to the day when we can embrace all the adult learners and graduates of INE and say: here we are as a Montessori community making history,” says the director of the Academic Program.
