Connected with Nature
“You can cut all the flowers but you cannot keep Spring from coming.”, P. Neruda.
The meeting of Para la Naturaleza and the INE bears fruit once again. Through the project, Sembrando Regresamos students from many parts of the island participated in planting and creating gardens. Thanks to the work of their families, Montessori teachers, and assistants, they had the experience of seeing and enjoying its fruits.
Our students recognize the importance of caring for the environment as a priority in their lives. Concrete experiences with nature lead them to establish a healthy relationship with it.
Thanks to the collaboration that exists between PLN and INE, we were able to deliver materials for the creation of home and school gardens, and have experiences that promote environmental awareness. 862 students participated in the levels from Casa de Niño to Workshop III from 27 schools in 16 municipalities on the island.
We celebrate the achievements of the program:
95% of the families indicated that the project met expectations, while 97% of the Montessori teachers said they were satisfied with the development of the project.
83% of the lettuce and spinach planted, and 60% of the vegetables planted, were harvested.
87% of the parents indicated that their children were able to learn thanks to the experience of the home garden project.
86% of the students at the end of the project presented high levels of connection and love for nature.
95% of the Montessori teachers would like to continue the development of the gardens.
We congratulate all the families, guides, assistants and resources that participated in Sembrando Regresamos and we thank Para La Naturaleza for making this project possible
