An enriching program for the Montessori Education Meeting
November has arrived, bringing with it the first educational event in Puerto Rico based on the Montessori philosophy and methodology. It features a diverse and enriching program for every educator and participant who attends next weekend at the Convention Center.
The program was designed by our academic committee, which sought to provide certified guides with an intimate space to reconnect with each other and with the Montessori curriculum, as the first day is designed for certified Montessori guides, Montessori school directors, and Montessori Curriculum Implementation Assistants.
This first day will be enjoyed by over 800 members of school communities, who, in addition to having wonderful resources according to their certification, will take the Inaugural Lesson by Professor Vanesa Mulero and will delight in the music of the beloved Tito Auger, a great friend of the Public Montessori project and the New School Institute (INE).
On Saturday, the Convention Center will be filled with educators, professionals, and families. Participants are expected to enjoy a wide variety of topics, ranging from educational strategies and parenting to curriculum-enriching projects, transformative stories, music, entertainment, and a keynote address by Vivian Neptune, Dean of the University of Puerto Rico School of Law.
“On the second day, we wanted our teachers to be able to present their achievements and special projects,” shares Larissa Parilla, curriculum coordinator at the INE and part of the event's academic committee. This space will also allow teachers who are in schools every day to present strategies and tools that have enabled them to succeed with their students.
The program also features the participation of leading professionals, organizations, and companies that have joined as resources to enhance the academic aspects, but also to nurture the soul that teachers need.
Each part of the program seeks to deepen the formation of citizens of peace.“The Montessori method has demonstrated that peace is not an abstract ideal, but a daily practice cultivated from childhood, resulting in the development of a citizenry capable of serving the country with this value,” said Jennyffer Otero, executive director of the INE. “This first meeting is a call to educators, families, and communities to reflect, listen to one another, and commit to building the country we want: one based on empathy, respect, and collaboration,” she added.
We invite you to watch the program. Read carefully and prepare for this big event. Also, buy your ticket for the charity raffle for peace which boasts major awards.
