More people are getting to know the Public Montessori School
About 11 people from Dorado Cares are welcomed by students.
The last week of January served as the setting for a group of people to visit the first public Montessori school, Juan Ponce de León, to learn more about the public Montessori school project about which they had already received information.
This morning, we welcomed the Dorado Cares organization, who, by signing an agreement, pledged to support us in order to continue serving the 60 schools in the project.

This visit was guided by students of different levels and stages of development, who with their leadership skills and experience in the Montessori methodology shared every space of their school.
The tour was full of connection, testimonials, and positive amazement, highlighting the order, organization, and autonomous learning promoted by the Montessori pedagogy implemented in the school.
In contrast, the afternoon hours were used to welcome with purpose and enthusiasm the journalist Sonia Valentín along with the producer Carla Cristina Dávila, who interacted with infants, a stage of development that has Montessori environments within public schools, which makes our project unique and innovative.
Journalist Sonia Valentín participates in the community assembly in a Montessori Workshop II setting. The assembly takes place in the morning and afternoon among students, guides, and Montessori assistants to foster connection.
Sitting on the floor in a circle, they listened and observed a peaceful space where everyone, being on the same level, listens to each other, appreciates each other, gives thanks, and shows a sense of community, which is essential to forming citizens of peace, respect, and good character.
We call these visits Open Houses. These are part of the experiences that our project partners and friends have, and they showcase the reach of our work in public Montessori schools throughout Puerto Rico.
