At the Instituto nueva Escuela (INE), we completed our 2020-2025 strategic plan with great achievements that marked the path to focus on more results for the benefit of Puerto Rican children and youth.
The INE's 17 years of commitment as a Montessori training educational center in Puerto Rico have allowed us to certify over 600 people in Montessori pedagogy, which has resulted in a national achievement: 60 public schools where the Montessori methodology is accessible and free for thousands of families.
Our commitment is evident in every achievement we share with people who, like you, believe in the transformative power of education. Among our achievements for 2024-2025, the following stand out:
45 teachers certified as Montessori guides
113 adult apprentices received mentoring
298 follow-up visits to promote improvement in Montessori practices
51 Montessori implementation assistants took their training course
Launch the virtual academy to offer distance education courses
Offer 16 continuing education workshops to Montessori guides
Re-accredit the Secondary I course until the year 2030
Offer 13 school transformation workshops to school communities
92% of schools reported having an established Families Committee
601 participants in environmental and nature contact projects in schools
1,306 individual psychological therapies and 577 family therapies that transform human pain into an action plan for happiness
3,481 new followers on our social media
Responsible and sustainable finance

Each achievement makes it clear that the heart of the INE remains strong, continues to beat, and continues to make accessible and quality education a reality.
The Casa Familiar program began at the first public Montessori school, and last year it reached 432 students and 358 families in 14 communities with social-emotional support services.
That’s how , we are closing a strategic plan, with the commitment to continue shaping and transforming public education.
“The new plan will guide us with a renewed purpose toward profound educational transformation in established communities through the integration of Montessori pedagogy, collaborative work, and family involvement; the defense of the right to an excellent public education; and a sustainable organizational operation to ensure the project's continuity. A new school is not only possible, it is necessary. And together, we continue working to make it a reality!” Otero concludes in her message accompanying the 2024-2025 achievement report.
